Becky’s feminist agenda

Becky’s feminist agenda

Hi, I’m Becky Mollenkamp, and these are the feminist values that inform how I coach, run my business, and live my life:

If it isn’t intersectional, it isn’t feminist (h/t Kimberlé Crenshaw).
I’m committed to dismantling all systems of oppression (racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, ableism, anti-fat bias, ageism, etc.). They’re mutually reinforcing, and “the truth is, no one of us can be free until everybody is free,” Maya Angelou.

I recognize that I benefit from unearned advantages.
I’m a queer woman in a larger body who lives with an anxiety disorder. I’m also white, cis-het, straight presenting, well-educated, middle-class, and able-bodied. My positionality includes many privileges that carry great responsibility to challenge the unjust framework of white supremacist, capitalist patriarchy.

I want to help build a feminist economy.
I define success beyond money and productivity. I pay myself and anyone I hire a living wage. I offer accessible pricing and payment options whenever possible. I engage in ethical, consent-based marketing and sales practices. I resist hustle culture (rest is a right). I encourage the same for my clients.

Words and actions matter.
I continue to unlearn harmful conditioning in an effort to live in greater alignment with my values. I strive to use anti-oppressive language, and welcome correction when I make mistakes. I credit those who educate me, and redistribute wealth to organizations that share my values (see below).

I work and live on the unceded territory of the Osage and Kickapoo tribes.

I wasn’t the pretty one.

I thought becoming “the pretty one” would make me feel worthy. Eventually, I realized only I could define my worthiness. This vulnerable post shines a light on who I am and why I do this work.

A tale of two abortions.

I’ve had two abortions, and I shared those stories to help reduce the stigma around this medical procedure (click below to read). I believe abortion is healthcare, and choose not to work with folks who disagree.
