A 12-week group program, informed by “The Artist’s Way” by Julia Cameron, that uses creativity as a tool for discovery, connection, and growth.
(Next round: Winter 2022)
This is for you if you’re ready to…
✅ Tap into your inner knowing.
✅ Do something that’s just for you.
✅ Better understand yourself and what’s next for you.
✅ Develop a more positive relationship with yourself.
✅ Discover, uncover, recover creativity and passion.
✅ Find community with others on the same journey.
You don’t need have already read (or even heard of) “The Artist’s Way,” and you definitely don’t need to be creative. You only need to be excited to get to know your true self, and have an open heart and mind.
What this is…
Each week, you’ll read one chapter of “The Artist’s Way,” which we will discuss as a group. You’ll also do daily “morning pages” (free writing) and weekly “artist’s dates” (solo creative outings).
While the general concept is is to get in touch with your creative side, the real gift of the program is going on treasure hunt of yourself.
Over the 12 weeks, you’ll recover or discover parts of yourself in a variety of areas—safety, identity, power, integrity, possibility, abundance, connection, strength, compassion, self-protection, autonomy, and faith.
This is a process of remembering who you are at your core.
It takes courage to invest in yourself.

It can be scary to spend time and money on something as “frivolous” as creative imagining, meaning making, and personal transformation. (You’ve probably been told it’s selfish to prioritize your desires.)
You deserve to space for personal growth.
Using “The Artist’s Way” by Julia Cameron as a guidepost, the Gutsy Creative Circle is designed to help you connect with your inner knowing, intuition, and truest self.
This isn’t about painting and poetry!
The Gutsy Creative Circle is about unlocking your innate wisdom—the inner compass that can guide you toward what is right for you (not what you’ve been told you “should” want).
Facilitated by coach, writer and feminist Becky Mollenkamp, the Gutsy Creative Circle is an inclusive and brave space to explore, play, and hope in connection with others.
YOU DESERVE THIS SAFE SPACE TO EXPRESS YOUR CREATIVE SIDE, EVEN IF…
🎨 you don’t think you have one.
🎨 it’s been dormant for decades.
🎨 you’re afraid it won’t be good enough.
🎨 it feels like a selfish waste of time.
🎨 it scares the crap out of you.

About Becky
YOU ARE AN INHERENTLY CREATIVE BEING.
My brother was the creative one, and I was the practical one. Even so, I know that deep inside of everyone (even me) is a creative soul waiting to be expressed.
This program will help you set your inner artist free with love and compassion (never blame or shame).
I will be on this journey with you, as every facilitator of an Artist’s Way Circle is meant to be. I can’t wait to co-create with you!

FAQs
Is this for me?
This program is a fit for those who have lost touch with their creativity (or who feel like they never had it). That includes folks who feel their creativity was blocked or discouraged at some point in their lives.
It’s also just as perfectly suited to those who want to make more space for, grow more confident in, and deepen an existing creative practice.
Most important, participants need an open heart and mind, and a willingness to do some deep introspective work.
It’s also best suited to people who prefer doing personal development work and creative expression in community with others rather than in isolation. This does not mean participants must be extroverts (sharing is always optional).
If you’ve been wanting to create time and space for reflecting, dreaming, and creating, then this is definitely for you.
What do I get when I sign up?
Everyone who participates in the Gutsy Creative Circle will receive:
• CALLS: Weekly 1-hour live group calls (12 total) + daily 30-minute live group calls in Weeks 1 and 2 (8 total).
• FACILITATION: I’ll send you daily emails throughout the entire 12-week program, each with a daily exercise, plus words of encouragement and other tips to help you. I’ll also provide worksheets and other resources to support your exploration and growth.
• COMMUNITY: A private Slack community, with direct access to me, where you can ask questions, share your wins and struggles, and find a circle of support and accountability from the community and me.
How much time will it take each week?
That answer is entirely up to you.
While the author of “The Artist’s Way,” Julia Cameron, recommends 7-10 hours per week (daily journaling plus weekly creative dates), you have permission to do this in whatever way feels best to you. Seriously.
You’ll want to set aside some time each day (ideally) or each week (minimally) to get the most out of this program. That can be as little as 1-2 hours per week or or as much as 1-2 hours per day.
Like every Gutsy Boss program, the Creative Circle is built on a foundation of radical self-compassion.
That means there will NEVER be judgment about how much you do or in what time frame. This program IS NOT about pushing hard, dutifully completing each task, and meeting strict deadlines.
This program is about connecting with and enjoying yourself, not beat yourself up. Do what you can, where you can fit it in, and you can always revisit what you miss later.
What if I fall behind?
The group will move through one chapter of “The Artist’s Way” per week, but there is no judgment allowed in this group.
If you miss days, catch up or skip them. Do what you can as you can, and stick with it.
Most important, keep showing up. Don’t let a missed day or many stop you from participating. Don’t let “falling behind” cause you to leave the group and give up on yourself.
No matter where you are and how much work you’ve done, you are welcome in the group. You are always encouraged engage or re-engage.
We are not here to be perfect, we are here to evolve. You showing up, for what you can do, is enough. This is not a class—this is a circle, a community, an experience.
What are the dates and times for the program?
The next cohort will begin in Winter 2022. Check back here for exact dates/times. Or, better yet, sign up for the waitlist at the bottom of this page and I’ll email you all the details as soon as I have them.
What if I can't be there live?
Although you’ll get more from the program by attending the calls live, there may be times when you can’t make a call. Replays of the 1-hour live calls will be made available within 24 hours. There won’t be replays for the 30-min. calls as they will just be quiet co-working sessions.
What if I've done the Artist's Way before?
This group is open to those who are new to the process and those who are more experienced. If you have started the process, but not finished it before, doing it with a group could help you complete it.
Do I have to read the book in advance?
No. We’ll move through the book one chapter per week. Ideally, you’ll read the chapter in advance of that week’s call and come ready to discuss and/or ask questions. But there is no judgment if you don’t complete the week’s reading before the call.
Also, you’ll receive daily emails throughout the program reminding you of the various exercises in the book. These will give you something to do each day (but again, no judgment if you skip an exercise).
